Now that there are a few hundreds of apps/games for our N900, managing them kinda gets into our nerves at times. Well there are 4 home-screens to keep the frequently used apps handy but at times we just run out of space on our homescreen or may be we just need a faster way to access our favorite or rather most commonly used apps. This is where our handy little app-Quick Launch pitches in, by bringing easy access to as many as 5 apps from the quick launch menu. Find out more about this little app, after the break.Screenshots
Before you start using this app, you need to know how to customize this app to set your favorite apps in the launch menu. For that you need to head to the Settings mode of the N900, which is kinda counter-intuitive as one would expect to find the settings option within the Quick Launch app, but then it’s not rocket science and one will eventually figure it out! Once in Settings menu, look for Quick Launch, which should be listed in General sub-category. Now you are all set to set configure five of your most frequently used apps in the quick launch menu: just tap it and select the app from the drop down menu. Can’t get any simpler than that!
Now before I sign off, let me tell you that you can download the app for free from the app manager

Well, if you have been yearning for some chrome action on your N900, you don’t have to wait for long for our friends at MeegoPortal have found a way to get this awesome browser onboard our N900, without having to wait for the Google guys to release the Maemo version of their popular browser. Whether Google will ever release an official version of the Chrome browser for Maemo is not known yet but then our linux gurus have already found their way around the system. Nokia N900 update goes official
The phrase: Third Time Lucky, couldn’t have been any more apt than it’s for the v1.2 N900 firmware saga. The blogosphere was strife with speculations way back in March, when an exhaustive changelog was posted over at the Maemo Arena.
Then the fire doused for a while, only to re-emerge in early May, with an unofficial release in torrents and other file sharing services. Nokia insisted it was an incomplete release and went on to warn the N900 community against installing this update. Finally laying to rest all the build-up to the v1.2 firmware, Nokia officially announced the availability of the firmware update over “Over The Air” channel, first in UK, followed by phased launches in other parts of the world. I know you have seen the changelog on more than one occasion of this firmware, but those were mostly unofficial compilations. Let’s see what Nokia has to say in their changelog, after the break though.Changelog-
First up – new games join the veritable arcade already on offer in Ovi Store. Jurassic 3D Rollercoaster, Zen-bound, Angry Birds (level pack), Sygic, Kroll, Weatherbug, and GoGadget are all available to keep you entertained. Important to note though that Ovi Store will do a full switchover this week Thursday, May 27, so these games and other for-purchase apps will show up then.
Next are the improvements to communication. Email has been improved with the ability to accept or decline an event invitation right there in your inbox, and Facebook IM chat has also been bundled in. The release also brings with it video calling, allowing users face-to-face chatting anywhere.
An additional update you will be pleased to hear about is portrait browsing on the internet is a-go on the N900. Ovi Maps also gets the update treatment with changes to the UI, improving the experience of finding your way around. And finally, there’s also a change to the menu system UI with the first level now customisable.
As you can see Nokia has decided to skip our N900s for the much hyped Meego2.1 update.

Are u waithing for a land scape mode for the N900? Well u dont gona need to wait for a long time anymore. But first, Nokia for some reason decide to use only the landscape mode. All of the third party applicator agreed on that.
From the lounch Noika has forgoten that N900 has not got the portial mode and left it as it is. Thy dont care about lack of that feature, even if the users r sending complains to them about lack of that funcion. But how i said on the begining u dont gona wait for long couse the enterprising developer known as Robin Burchell has made this application caled ROTATEDEAMON. It will rotate the screen at 360 degrees on yours N900's.
